Russian troops are killing Ukrainian civilians and destroying Ukrainian cities right now.  To block traffic from Russia or accounts of Russian engineers or both in response seems only fair to me.

It won't be free.  But as Jeff Bezos stated just recently in his final letter to shareholders:

"Democracies are not normal. Tyranny is the historical norm. If we stopped doing all of the continuous hard work that is needed to maintain our distinctiveness in that regard, we would quickly come into equilibrium with tyranny."
