I am still researching and will be calling the SE Ohio EPA office today to ask further questions to them. I did find this site where you can pull up counties in Ohio and see all the spots that are authorized as a Class B site. This authorization doesn't necessarily mean they have applied the sewage sludge, but it's really mind blowing there are so many located throughout Athens, Hocking and Meigs Counties. I've attached that site link to this update.
I am meeting with the Director of Public Works and City Engineer as well as the manager of the WWTP tomorrow. I plan to ask questions, tour the facility to see how everything is managed and express my concerns. If you have any questions you want me to ask that I maybe haven't thought of, please I beg you to send them my way so we can get informed!! I also have a meeting with someone tomorrow evening that would like to interview me on all of this. I must admit, this is all a lot of weight on my shoulders, but I'm prepared to handle that as long as there is something done to stop this.
I would even be willing to help OU/WWTP fund raise if that's whats needed for their new equipment, or find land that is not near residents if that's what it takes to make sure we aren't getting harmed. I understand that isn't really stopping the sludge problem, but it is at least moving it away from people.
I'll post another update after my meetings tomorrow evening and again, thank you to everyone near and far that has signed this petition and voiced their concerns!! I really appreciate it. I just keep saying, no one would want this in their backyard or have their family around this..
