Alton has decided that every Thursday night from June 3rd to Sept. 9th, they will be shooting off fireworks. I don’t know about you, but the 4th of July is PLENTY when it comes to fireworks! With all the loud booms from the downtown fireworks frightening our dog. Many families also live downtown with small children, who have bedtimes around nine. Plus let’s not forget about the veterans who call downtown their home, who may suffer from ptsd. There are much better places the city could spend money to improve Alton...like our pothole infested roads. If you also live downtown, please sign this petition and have the city of Alton spend the money elsewhere.
