Ski resort conglomerate Alterra Mountain Company has proposed to expand into Pioneer Ridge, the home of many species all to become "Colorado's 3rd largest resort"

New development would damage critical habitat, not to mention:

• Add thousands of people to an area they should not be in
• Destroy the beauty of Burgess Creek and Creeskide Trail by building a bridge strong enough to carry snowcats over it.
• Increase demand for diminishing water resources for snowmaking due to the low elevation of planned expansion.

All for the glory of being the third largest resort. Who cares?

We are challenging the notion that adding this terrain serves any benefit to the community. Adding your name to the petition lets Alterra and Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation know we mean business. It will help Alterra Mountain Company to rethink their plans.

Stand up for our critical habitat by signing the petition to end this nonsense.

I hereby urge the Alterra and Steamboat Resort to:
    •    Protect to the mountains that are home to a set of unique species that give Steamboat a sense of place.
    •    Protect Burgess Creek, the surrounding forest, and Steamboat's incredible natural beauty.
    •    Explore terrain that their clientele actually demands-beginner and intermediate.
    •    Coexist with nature instead of pushing boundaries.
