I found a puppy in a target parking lot in a bag , I am a volunteer with alsip animal rescue , I was near by and took the puppy to them to see if she had a chip , she did not , alsip then vetted her and chipped her without my knowledge . I was then told to report this with animal control , I went to animal control and they found a chip ! Then we knew that alsip to the rescue chipped the puppy and was not supposed to until the stray hold with animal control was up . All the while I am fostering to adopt a puppy , we had a verbal agreement to adopt this other puppy . Alsip demanded we bring back their foster dogs and is refusing to let us adopt the puppy until we bring forth the puppy that I found at target . So they are black mailing my family . Saying we need to do the application process to place the target puppy in an appropriate home , we have already found her a good home . For their own selfish reasons they are stating we need to do one "transaction" with the two dogs , when legally the puppy that I found in the parking lot became mine once the stray hold was up ! Common law states that lost propriety needs to go on the hold , after the hold the lost "property" becomes the finders , which is me , if the finder does not want the dog the finder can place it with a local rescue and have them adopt the puppy out , or animal control has the right to euthanize . I had told them when I found the puppy we could do the adoption process through alsip to make things a little easier on our friends who want the puppy and give them the business. The point of this is our puppy was taken from our home who we had every intention to adopt from , they are refusing to let us , he is being held hostage from us until I give up the puppy I found . The target puppy's adoption has nothing to do with the puppy our family wants to adopt . So why are they blackmailing us ?!? We just want chibbs at home ! Help us free chibbs . !!!!! This rescue obviously does not have the best interest of the dogs in mind .
