For 18 years, Matildas has been the place in Alpharetta where artists and musicians have come together with the local community. The purpose of this petition is to show the city planners and developers of Alpharetta how many artists, musicians, clients, and patrons of the arts will be disappointed if the city choses not to act to preserve the flavor and character of this quaint setting that is one of Alpharetta's favorite "go to places" for a unique shopping and entertainment experience. It is an asset to the city that likely can not be replicated or replaced once this piece of history is destroyed for another housing development...

Alpharetta is creating a beautiful vibrant community of new structures but a balance between the new and the old should be maintained... Ask any one of the thousands of visitors and regular patrons of the concerts at Matildas... which is in Alpharetta's best interest..another housing development or keeping Matildas and you'll have the right answer...

The alternate possibilities are endless... one example would be a farm to table restaurant overlooking the music venue that utilizes the 3 acres of historic farm land.. with shopping and event facility capabilities...An art and music retreat and artist market with hand crafted one of a kind small retailers..

Can't we find a way to save this little jewel and make it even better for the city of Alpharetta, Ga..
