The Issue

🚨 **LANTERN PRIMARY PARENTS – WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!** 🚨

Our Year 6 children are  being refused to wear  leavers’ hoodies because of health and safety concerns, despite hoodies being worn at other schools within the trust and being shown on promotional brochures and websites.

We are asking Meridian Trust to explain this decision and consider a safe, sensible solution.

Allowing Year 6 pupils to wear their leavers' hoodies is more than just a matter of comfort; it's a rite of passage that commemorates their years of hard work, learning, and growth. It fosters a sense of community and belonging, reinforcing the meaningful bonds formed over their primary school journey. These hoodies serve as a wearable memory that enables students to leave a lasting imprint at their beloved school.

The Lantern Primary School is renowned for its supportive environment and commitment to student well-being. Allowing students to wear their leavers’ hoodies aligns perfectly with the school's values by respecting and acknowledging the milestones in a student's educational journey.

We understand the concerns regarding uniform consistency, but practical compromises can be reached without undermining the spirit of unity the school aims to maintain. Schools like ours across the UK have successfully allowed leaver garments to be worn  ensuring that tradition and practicality coexist harmoniously.
