I was so touched to receive this beautiful photo from 8-year-old Noor, a Palestinian girl from Gaza whose family was overjoyed to receive permits needed to reunite with Noor’s mom, Sherin, in Canada, after 31 months apart. But now the family faces a new challenge: they need our help to raise $3,500 for the flights that will finally reunite them with Sherin in Canada. Can you help?
If you can contribute to the costs of a long-delayed happy family reunion, please send an etransfer to the Rural Refugee Rights Network at tasc@web.ca or write a cheque to Homes not Bombs (earmarked “Noor”) and mailed to 2583 Carling Avenue, Unit M052, Ottawa, ON K2B 7H7.
Noor and her three brothers have lived through the worst of real-life nightmares, with the house next to them destroyed in the May attacks on Gaza and three of her little friends killed. They are the 11th of 14 long-separated Palestinian families with whom we’ve worked this year to win the permits.
Let’s bring Noor and her family together. Thank you!
