As ardent supporters of Kpop music, we are shocked and saddened by the recent decision of the Korean World Dream Awards (KWDA) and UPick Global Fandom App to deny Kpop Girl Group, UNIS, the chance to deliver an acceptance speech and perform a second time. This disparity was conspicuous when other groups were allowed to take the stage twice after winning the Girl Group Popularity Award.

We understand that this discrepancy struck a negative chord with the active and committed fans, who paid a substantial amount of money to vote and ensure their favorites claimed the award. We worked hard to ensure UNIS and EXO won the Popularity Award. We anticipated a shout-out and more. But imagine our despair at receiving no more than a mere mention. We waited for our moment of glory, but it never came.

The least we can expect from a KPOP popularity award show like KWDA is fair screen time for all performers and winners. Denying this to UNIS and EXO has left a sour note in our hearts.

Based on this experience, we are compelled to raise this petition. We urge the KWDA and the UPick Global Fandom App to reassess their treatment of award recipients, especially considering the significant effort and resources fans invest in the voting process.

We demand equitable treatment for all groups and call for KWDA and UPick Global Fandom App to ensure that all award-winning acts are given a decent amount of screen time, especially for acceptance speeches. This action will not only honor the hard work of the artists but also recognize the dedication of the fans.
