Our beloved Edsel Ford varsity basketball team, a group of young men who have given their all throughout the season, are facing an unjust disqualification from the division playoffs. This unfortunate situation arose due to an altercation initiated by another team. In defense of themselves, our boys got involved and now they are being penalized for it.

Ten of these players are seniors who will never again get a chance to play at high school level. They have worked tirelessly and shown immense dedication towards their sport, only for their dreams to be shattered because they stood up for themselves during an unsolicited confrontation.

Dearborn is known for its sportsmanship and fair play. It's heartbreaking that our boys' journey has been abruptly halted due to circumstances beyond their control. According to National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), over 7 million students participate in high school sports annually in America, with each one dreaming of reaching the playoffs and beyond (source: NFHS). We cannot let this dream be crushed unfairly.

We urge the relevant authorities in Dearborn, MI, USA - where fairness should always prevail - to reconsider this decision and allow our Edsel Ford varsity basketball team back into the division playoffs. Their hard work deserves recognition; they deserve a chance at victory on court rather than being sidelined due to an unfortunate incident.
