Allow The Bailey Family to participate in CYF

This petition made change with 314 supporters!

On Saturday May 27th, Carter Youth Football commissioner Melvin Burns advised my husband and I that our family may not participate in CYF this year.  When asked for a reason, we were advised that the board decided it.   We have been given no other explanation.

This CYF decision would include my son not being able to play the sport he loves with his friends and years long teammates, his brothers in green.  This will be his last year of youth football before moving to high school, why deny him this?  Why force him to wear any other school name on his jersey other than Carter?  This CYF decision would also include taking a caring and devoted coach away from his team.  My husband, Thomas, has put in countless hours this off season to help train and strengthen these kids to prepare them for this next step in their football careers.  He has not taken a break from this team, there has been no off season for him, he has fully devoted himself to these kids and their wellbeing on and off the field.

Previous disagreements have ensued between myself and CYF board members but I, along with many others, do not believe that is reason enough to "punish" my son along with his teammates.  I have filed a grievance with Carter Youth Sports Association in regards to this issue, I would like to bring this petition with me to our hearing date which is TBD.

Thanks to anyone who has shown support & Go Hornets!
