Other students and I find it hard to carry all of our stuff around the school if you have to carry a lot around. It’s also hard when we will have to do things while we hold our textbooks, notebooks, etc. We also don’t like leaving our phones in our lockers because we feel it’s safer with us, some have the fear that someone may take their phones. Some female students feel uncomfortable when they need to carry around needed feminine products. The only reason the backpacks were taken away was because there were threats and some kids had taken weapons and threatening materials to their schools. Although it is safe to take precautions, and make sure it doesn’t happen here, we need to accommodate to the students. There are other ways around this issue, like having students invest in clear backpacks, starting a fundraiser to be able to provide for security systems, and even having hired people check our backpacks.
