Allow teachers to change scratch student accounts to normal accounts

Allow teachers to change scratch student accounts to normal accounts
The Issue
When I started using Scratch, I was a student in a class and was given a student account. Over time, I have evolved, learned, and grown beyond that initial classroom. However, my account remains tied to that student status, limiting my ability to explore and expand within the Scratch community. I am still considered a "student," and this restricts the features I can access.
As Scratch users, we invest significant time and effort into our projects and profiles. The thought of having to create a new account and leave behind the work and progress we've made can be quite disheartening. Restarting from scratch means losing the connections, accomplishments, and invaluable learning experiences that have been nurtured over time.
To address this, I believe teachers should have the capability to convert student accounts into regular accounts once the students are ready to transition out of their initial learning phases. This change would not only empower users like myself to fully utilize all aspects of Scratch but also encourage continuous growth in learning and creativity.
Empowering teachers with the ability to facilitate this transition aligns with the educational goals of Scratch, fostering a more inclusive environment where learning and advancement are not restricted by account status. I urge the Scratch community, educators, and developers to consider implementing this important feature.
Let us work together to adapt the platform in a way that supports continuity and acknowledges the growth of its users. Please sign this petition to show your support and help us bring about this crucial change.
