I am a resident of The Gap, QLD, Australia, and this issue is deeply personal to me. Many students feel insecure without makeup. We believe that wearing makeup can boost our confidence and self-esteem. It's not just about vanity; it's about expressing ourselves and feeling comfortable in our skin.

Additionally, we believe that the length of skirts should not be strictly regulated. Some students prefer shorter skirts for comfort or style reasons while others may choose longer lengths for the same reasons. We should have the freedom to choose what we wear within reasonable boundaries.

According to a study by the University of Melbourne (2017), school uniforms can have an impact on students' self-perception and overall school experience. This research suggests that allowing more flexibility in uniform policies could contribute positively to students' wellbeing.

We are calling on the gap state high schoolto revise their dress codes - specifically regarding makeup usage and skirt lengths - with student input considered seriously during this process.
