Thousands of responsible pet owners are currently unable to travel to the United Kingdom with their small pets in the airplane cabin. Despite pets being healthy, vaccinated, and able to fit comfortably in approved carriers under the seat, in-cabin travel is completely prohibited — often without a clear or transparent explanation.

For many of us, pets are family.

Forcing small animals to travel in cargo causes unnecessary stress and risk, especially on long international flights. Many countries already allow in-cabin pet travel under strict rules that protect both animal welfare and passenger safety. There is no clear reason why similar regulations cannot be implemented for UK-bound flights.

We respectfully ask UK authorities and airlines to:

Provide transparent reasoning behind the current ban
Review and modernize existing pet travel policies
Introduce regulated in-cabin options for small pets
Prioritize animal welfare alongside aviation safety
Allowing small, well-documented pets to travel in cabins would make travel more humane while maintaining high hygiene and safety standards.
