Although we are experiencing warmer summers in the UK, secondary school boys are still expected to wear trousers to school.
This could cause overheating, affecting their concentration in warm classrooms and their ability to learn.

As girls have the option to choose between trousers and skirts, we ask that boys get similar rights to choose between trousers and shorts during the spring/summer terms.

Update:

After many conversations, messages and comments on other platforms I am changing the petition slightly to include smart shorts into Secondary School Uniform regardless of season or gender.

No person experience heat or the way a certain piece of clothing feels while wearing it. 
My kids like to wear shorts right through the year and I’ve been contacted by so many parents saying the same. 

Please stand with us in asking that all Secondary schools include shorts in their allowed uniform policy.
