New Jersey is the only state in America where it is illegal for motorists to pump their own gas, as per the 1949 Retail Gasoline Dispensing Safety Act.

However, it's high time we reassess these outdated statutes and give motorists the choice to fill up gas themselves. The rest of the 49 states have implemented self-service with notable efficiency and increased convenience for the customers.

Moreover, self-service can lead to reduced labor costs for businesses, and lower fuel prices. It also increases the speed of service. Allowing self-service in New Jersey will not only provide convenience but will also contribute to the economy and put us in line with the rest of the country.
