Satellite High School's 2024 track team has demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication. However, they are currently limited to hosting only one home track meet per season. This restriction not only limits the team's exposure but also deprives the local community of Satellite Beach, FL, from witnessing and supporting their young athletes' performances.

Hosting more home meets including Districts would provide an opportunity for these athletes to compete in a familiar environment, which can significantly boost their performance. According to a study by the Journal of Sports Sciences, home advantage is a real phenomenon that can influence match outcomes (Journal of Sports Sciences).

Moreover, it would also generate local economic activity as spectators often spend money on food and other services during such events. A report by The National Association of Sports Commissions states that youth sports events contributed over $15 billion to local economies across the U.S in 2018 (National Association of Sports Commissions).

We urge the relevant authorities to reconsider this limitation and allow Satellite High School's 2024 track team to host more than one home track meet including Districts. This change will not only benefit our talented athletes but also contribute positively towards our community spirit and economy.
