We the undersigned residents of the Borough of Morrisville respectfully call for a more open, transparent and participatory process for appointments to Borough boards, authorities and commissions. 

Borough boards play a vital role in shaping policy, overseeing public resources and representing the interests of the community. We believe these responsibilities are best served through a process that encourages broad civic participation and public accountability.

Therefore, we respectfully request the following:

That individuals appointed to Borough board positions at the December 16,2025 Morrisville Borough Council meeting voluntarily step down immediately creating an opportunity for public participation.

That all Borough board vacancies be publicly advertised and included on the agenda two months prior to the vacancy, allowing any qualified resident to submit a letter of intent.

That voting to fill vacancies are held no earlier than the month of the vacancy.

That letters of intent be made available for public review prior to the selection.

That appointments be made through a public process at a duly advertised public meeting with an opportunity for council discussion and public comment.

This request is not intended as a criticism of any individual currently serving. Rather, it reflects a shared belief that periodic renewal and open competition strengthen public trust, encourages civic engagement, and helps insure that Borough boards reflect the diversity, talent and perspectives of our community.

By signing this petition, we affirm our support for transparent governance, equal access to public service opportunities, and a Borough government that actively welcomes community involvement.
