ALLOW POLICE TO RESPOND TO ANIMAL CRIMES

ALLOW POLICE TO RESPOND TO ANIMAL CRIMES
Why this petition matters
POLICE POLICIES ARE KILLING PETS
Police refuse to allocate a crime number to any animal crimes committed unless reported by the RSPCA rather than a member of the public.
This stops them from responding to emergencies that need immediate action such as a dog being beaten by their owner or an injured cat locked in a private garage.
In these circumstances the animal is often left severely harmed or dead when police intervention could have saved them.
Animal cruelty is a crime.
At the moment the police can't help stop these crimes even when they want to because their policies instruct them not to.
Let's get police policies changed so they are able to allocate crime numbers to animal cruelty and allow them to respond to emergencies to save lives.
