Pet pigs and chickens are currently prohibited in Egg Harbor Township, NJ zoning codes. This means any resident who has a pet potbellied pig or who owns chickens on less than 5 acres of land faces: imprisonment, hefty fines, community service or all three, plus removal of your pets.

If zoning is not changed, residents who own these pets will continue to face these unjust penalties. Without change, residents will have to give up their pets or be forced to move out of the area.
