Allow Paradise Cafe food truck to operate in local parks
The Issue
Growing up in a low-income area in New York, I've always understood the value of community and the importance of supporting one another. When I became the owner and operator of Paradise Cafe Food Truck, I saw it as an opportunity to give back to my community, particularly in the Long Branch area. Our food truck has become a staple at Lion Park and Long Branch Park, especially by the splash pad where families gather to enjoy a day out. We provide comfort food at reasonable prices that fit the budgets of the neighborhood, ensuring everyone can enjoy a good meal without financial strain.
Starting July 1, 2026, our food truck, which has all the legal documents and complies with city regulations, will no longer be allowed to operate in these parks due to ordinance 19-31 subsection 6. This ordinance restricts mobile food vendors from operating in specific public spaces, impacting not only my small business but also the community that relies on us for affordable and convenient food options.
The implementation of this ordinance would mean losing a part of what makes our community vibrant and accessible. Families anticipate our presence at the park, and for many, it's not just about eating—it’s about gathering, sharing stories, and moments over a meal. Our food truck is more than just a business; it's a part of this community’s culture and social fabric.
We need your support to show the local government that Paradise Cafe Food Truck is essential to both the economy and community spirit of the Long Branch area. By allowing us to continue operations in these parks, we can keep offering our beloved comfort food and maintain the vibrancy and convenience that our presence brings to the community.
Join us in urging the municipal authorities to amend ordinance 19-31 subsection 6, enabling food trucks like ours to operate in Lion Park and Long Branch Park. Your signature can help preserve not just a business, but a cherished community spot for social and family gatherings. Sign this petition to support local businesses and uphold the community spirit in Long Branch!
