My friend is about to reach a pivotal milestone, graduation. It's a moment that symbolizes years of hard work, late nights, and commitment to education. However, this significant occasion is at risk. He is denied the opportunity to walk at his own graduation ceremony in Verona, WI because of a mistake he made; he was found intoxicated during a school trip. While I understand rules and regulations are important, stripping him of this monumental life event seems extremely harsh.

Growing up, we are constantly told about the importance of second chances. High school is not just about academic achievements; it's a learning curve that prepares us for life by helping us understand our errors and the strength it takes to amend them. My friend made a mistake, a human error, but it doesn't define his entire high school journey, nor should it dictate his ability to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Graduation is more than just a ceremony; it is a rite of passage. It means so much not only to the student involved but also to their family and community who support and cheer them on. He has served as a positive influence to many during these years, actively engaging in community service projects and school activities, showing leadership potential beyond his infraction.

We're calling on the school administration in Verona, WI to reconsider its stance. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to celebrate their successes, irrespective of past mistakes. The punishment does not fit the infraction, and the emotional toll of missing out on this significant event surpasses any lesson the school administration might intend to teach through exclusion.

Please lend your voice to this cause. By signing this petition, you support the belief that a single misstep should not cloud years of dedication and perseverance. Help us make this graduation a memorable milestone for my friend.
