Allow our community colony cats to stay

The Issue

Every day, from our wheelchairs and walkers, we find joy in the playful antics of the ten community colony cats residing in our senior apartment complex in Marysville, CA. These delightful creatures, who have become an integral part of our daily lives, make us laugh and giggle with their playful antics. For many of us, these cats are not just animals; they are companions and friends that brighten our days and help combat feelings of loneliness.

Our community cats are all spayed and neutered, thanks to dedicated local efforts. They are not feral, but instead friendly and well-loved members of our community. Beyond the joy they bring us, they serve a vital role in our complex. By hunting mice that damage the wires in our cars, they help maintain safety and reduce repair costs, offering a significant practical benefit.

We understand there might be concerns about their presence, but we can assure you that the cats pose no problems. They are managed responsibly, and we ensure they are fed and cared for adequately. Their presence here has never caused any inconvenience; instead, they are a source of comfort and happiness in our lives.

Removing these cats would take away a source of joy and companionship for us, who have limited mobility and spend much of our time at home. The loss of these cats would mean losing a significant part of our small community and the support they provide in our everyday lives.

We kindly request that you allow our community colony cats to remain in our complex. Their presence enriches our lives immeasurably, and we would appreciate your understanding and support in keeping them with us. Please sign this petition to show your support in letting our community cats continue to live in our shared home and be a part of our lives.
