We, the undersigned parents and carers, are asking Lift Kingswood to allow pupils to attend school in their PE kits during periods of exceptionally hot weather.

With temperatures forecast to reach 30°C and above, many pupils are required to spend the entire school day in warm classrooms while wearing full school uniform. During a recent transition evening, parents experienced firsthand how hot parts of the school building can become, despite cooling measures being in place.

Many schools across Hull and the surrounding area already permit pupils to wear PE kits during extreme weather as a practical way of helping them remain comfortable, hydrated and focused on learning.

We are respectfully asking Lift Kingswood to adopt a temporary hot weather uniform policy that allows pupils to wear their PE kits on days where high temperatures are forecast.

This simple change would support pupil wellbeing, comfort and concentration during periods of extreme heat.
