The Issue

Friends and family, my name is Juana Coronado, and I am reaching out to anyone who might want to join my campaign. Three years ago, my family and I embarked on a culinary journey by launching our very own food truck, a venture that has quickly become a beloved staple for locals and travelers alike. Operating at the intersection of 269 and Avenal Cutoff, our food truck has not only served dishes made with love and care but has also become a crucial source of livelihood for our family.

However, our dream and effort are under threat due to an unexpected removal by Caltrans, who cited complaints about our truck allegedly blocking stop signs and causing accidents. In truth, we operate approximately 50 feet away from the stop signs, ensuring we comply with traffic regulations and prioritize the safety of all. Our position at this site was carefully selected to serve the community without causing any disrupts or potential hazards.

Our request is straightforward and fair: allow us to continue operating our food truck at this location, ensuring all safety protocols are upheld. We are more than willing to work with local authorities to address any genuine concerns and demonstrate that our presence does not pose a risk. We firmly believe our food truck is an asset to the community and can coexist peacefully alongside all local infrastructures.

It is not just a spot for food but a hub where community bonds are strengthened as people from various walks of life come together over meals. Our food truck supports local suppliers and contributes economically to the area, adding value to the local economy.

Moving us from this location would mean stripping our family of our primary income source, dismantling years of hard work, and depriving the community of a cherished gathering place. We appeal to Caltrans and the local government to reconsider their decision, allowing us to continue bringing joy and great food to our customers.

Please sign this petition to support our cause and help us secure our position at the intersection of 269 and Avenal Cutoff so we can continue serving you with dedication and care. Together, your voices can make a difference in protecting a small business that is much more than just a food truck. Thank you for your support.
