Allow Homeschooled Students to Participate in Interscholastic Sports at Toms River Schools

The Issue

Current policies within the Toms River Regional School District restrict the participation of homeschooled students in interscholastic sports. This is even though homeschooled students make up 4.7% of the United States student population in 2024.

The American Sports Academy also stated that sports participation can positively contribute to young individuals' physical, social, and intellectual growth. Given the increasing population of homeschooled students and the proven benefits of sports participation, the Toms River Regional School District must revise its policies to include homeschooled students in its sports programs.

By including homeschooled athletes in interscholastic sports programs, these students can enjoy the benefits of physical activities and team sports, which can potentially impact their overall well-being and academic accomplishments. It's time for a policy that embodies flexibility, inclusiveness, and equality. Join us in calling for this critical change. Please sign this petition.
