I was thinking about getting a hedgehog as a pet when I found out that they were illegal because of the fear that owners would release their pet into the wilderness. I think that hedgehogs should be legal as pets because it is not very likely that a hedgehog owner would release their pet into the wild. If a family with a hedgehog had to move away to a place where hedgehogs are illegal, they would have to leave their pet behind. Hedgehogs are hypoallergenic, and make a great alternative pet for people who are allergic to larger animals, like cats or dogs. I am ten years old, I live in Pennsylvania, and I am allergic to dogs. If animals like ferrets and sugar gliders are legal, hedgehogs should be, too. Please help me to change this law, thank you!
