Why this petition matters

Hardaway High School has made a new rule along with many that "Students are not allowed to have their backpacks in the classroom and will have to put their bags in their locker"

How are we supposed to go to our locker every transition (5 mins), with 8 different classes a day and get the stuff we need and be on time for class? Did nobody think about since everybody has to put their backpack in their locker and probably get stuff from their locker in every transition, with someone below, above, and beside you on both sides also trying to get their stuff that this would cause some commotion with each other and in the hallway since the lockers are in two-way hallways where everybody is passing through both ways? Were these possible problems or concerns discussed with whoever implemented this new rule?

For females theres a lot of stuff that need to be carried and for many they keep that stuff in a backpack, hygienic products, pads, tampons, and etc. For males they as well carry stuff in their backpacks for hygienic purposes and etc.

How can we carry binders, chromebooks, chargers, notebooks, hygienic products, and etc. Without a backpack to bring to class? Hardaway has desks that have hooks on the side for the sole purpose of hanging a backpack on there. How can we get around the school when we have to constantly go to a locker, possibly be late to class, and annoy a teacher by saying "I left something in my locker. May I go get it?" Instead of just having the stuff in one backpack. In all my years at Hardaway I haven't used a locker. Because I had that freedom to carry a backpack and have my stuff in there within arms reach. This rule does not seem very effective or gives the students less to worry about. This rule is looking to be very ineffective and could cause more problems for us students.
