Although 27 states in our country allow homeschool students to participate in public school sports, GA does not have legislation requiring public schools to allow homeschool students on their teams.

Homeschool parents must pay for all homeschool related materials and do not receive any income tax breaks.  Additionally, homeschool parents pay school taxes just like everyone else, but their homeschooled children cannot participate in public school activities.

I am attempting to get support for a bill to require that public schools give homeschoolers the same chance to participate on their sports teams as public school students. I have already been in contact with some of our members of congress and there is a lot of support for the bill there. However, in order for it to move forward, we need to show that there is support among the homeschool community.
