Allow EBT Recipients to Use Benefits for Qualified Vending Machine Purchases

The Issue

Food insecurity is becoming a bigger problem in America. The COVID-19 Pandemic along with supply chain issues has decreased food availability for millions of Americans making trips to the grocery store more difficult.

Vending Machines are the perfect solution offering access to a wider number of people, in a convenient and contactless environment. We can support this solution by asking our government to pass a bill that allows the usage of Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) at vending machines for qualified products.

If governmental bodies were to begin allowing EBT payments at vending machines it would help struggling families have easy access to drinks, snacks, and other convenience foods when they are struggling financially.

Populations and Locations that Could Benefit from EBT Vending:

  • College Students living in student housing.
  • Residents of low-income housing.
  • The homeless population with access to churches, shelters, etc.
  • Users of public services such as libraries, schools, and parks.

In order to make this change, we must petition our state and federal governments to allow the use of EBT on approved products from vending machines.

Fawn Engineering Corporation has patented a method of utilizing EBT credits to purchase approved items from vending machines. Their technology validates the transaction and can allow or limit the type of purchases made based on information collected from the government program's rules and regulations. This technology assures governmental EBT regulations are being followed.

Once EBT payment becomes widely accepted at vending machines it will allow convenient access to snacks and other goods for millions of Americans in a contactless environment.

Sign our petition to help us ensure that EBT recipients can have easy, contactless access to food through vending machine purchases.
