My grandchildren, like so many other little ones, adore our trips to the Weston Super Mare beach. The star of these visits are the donkeys especially Misty, who has become an integral part of our family’s coastal traditions. The joy that these donkeys bring to the children is absolutely priceless. However, recent developments threaten the residency of these cherished animals on the beach.

Donkeys have graced the beaches of the UK for over a century, creating joy and bringing people from far and wide. They are more than just beach attractions; they are living symbols of our coastal heritage, particularly here at Weston Super Mare beach, where their gentle presence contributes to the charm that we all have grown to love.

Yet, they are in danger of being removed from their place of residence – a move that would not only disrupt their lives but also significantly impact the experience of visitors to our beautiful beach. A beach without donkeys would be unimaginable for generations of families who have grown up with them.

We sincerely urge the local council and the responsible authorities to reconsider any decisions that would lead to the displacement of the donkeys. Our beaches are for everyone to enjoy - people, wildlife, and donkeys alike. Please, let them stay and continue to create beautiful memories for the visitors.
