Allow dogs back into Millfields fenced area

Allow dogs back into Millfields fenced area

The Issue

Allow dogs back into the fenced area by the Lea Bridge end of Millfields Park South. For years this has been a haven for owners of reactive or challenging dogs without gardens, as the only area they can take their dog and allow them to have off lead time.

Off lead time decreases reactivity in dogs and allows for the dog to expend energy and become calmer overall.

Reactive dog owners are now forced to walk their dogs within the open space of Millfields Park, where there are many joggers, cyclists, children and other dogs.

The fenced area allowed a level of safety for both dogs, owners and other park users. Without the use of this area, the risk of incident is significantly increased. We petition Hackney council to undo this decision for the safety and wellbeing of all.
