For 25 years Paw Behaviour used this hall & fenced ground to deliver Family Pet Education Classes to Carrum locals and Kingston residents. In 25 years there was never a single complaint made regarding cleanliness, hygiene or an allergy caused by the 4-6 baby puppies present at the classes on Saturday morning.
It's been three months since the last class was delivered in March and there has been no sign of life at the hall in those three months using the hall on a Saturday morning!
This is our local Community Guide Hall and for 25 years the community benefited from the classes Paw Behaviour delivered to teach families how to raise and train puppies. Classes that helped prevent behaviour problems in dogs, benefiting everyone. Classes that helped hundreds of families, who sought out the services of a professional dog trainer specialising in puppy training.
- Where is the benefit to community in stopping our hall hire & effectively shutting down the classes that benefited so many?
- Is this how community facilities are best used?
- Why can't we hire the hall/ground to present educational classes to families with 4-6 baby puppies? Nobody else is using it on a Saturday morning!
As everyone keeps saying, It Just Doesn't Make Any Sense!
I am in the same position as I was 30 years ago - unable to hire a facility that is safe or suitable to deliver classes for families wishing to learn how to raise & train a puppy. Is that progress? The answer is always the same - Kingston Council has a "No Dog Policy".
If you know of a facility that may be suitable, please let me know.
If you would like to see our classes back at the Community Hall, please write to our City of Kingston Councillors and express your concerns. Address your email to:

Our community & our family pets deserve the opportunity to attend professionally run classes. We need more professional dog training, not less!
Thank you for your ongoing concern & support!
