First of all thank you so much for your support, emails, calls & much more. It means a lot to me personally and everyone who cares about dogs & community education. A lot of you have emailed Kingston Council and a response from them headed "Poor Behaviour" (indeed) contains this information -
“We do continually assess the needs of our community spaces, and after careful consideration, it has been determined that the current use of the hall for dog training limits our ability to increase the utilisation of the space for broader community activities.”
What does this mean? Will other hall users be asked to vacate, or is just our tiny classes of 4-6 puppies? Will the hall sit empty on a Saturday morning in future & is the best use of our public facilities? So many questions.
Current Councillors were under the impression I had been consulted. I had not. One current Councillor has asked that a decision be held until election of a new local Councillor.
If you would like to see the provision of professional dog training within our community, we would encourage you to voice your concerns with Kingston Council on the following email -

We will post further information when we have any news from Kingston and thank you for your continued support, sharing of our petition. Education on responsible dog ownership is vital for every dog owner.
