As the current Head Officer and President of the Timber Creek Orchestra Program, it concerns me and the rest of the orchestra program that our orchestra director of 5 years, Diana Tang, is not being reappointed as the music director the following year 2025-2026. Ms. Tang has built the program from scratch, taking in the program during the year of 2021, during the COVID-19 outbreak. Throughout the 5 years, the orchestra program has expanded immensely, as the students have had multiple opportunities other schools haven’t been able to accomplish, let alone Timber Creek in previous years; some of these opportunities include performing at Steinmetz Hall and receiving straight Superiors at State Music Performance Assessment in Titusville. Ms. Tang has also brought the small orchestra community together; students stay after school to just talk with one another. Ms. Tang has provided us with a safe talking space to let us discover ourselves and let out our problems. From personal experience, Ms. Tang is the only person in my life who advocates for me pursuing a music career post high school. Without the creative direction of Ms. Tang, the orchestra program will suffer, as she is the only teacher Timber Creek has hired with a background of string education. I am asking you for the benefit of our entire community and program, that you please consider signing this petition to keep Ms. Tang in position as the orchestra director of Timber Creek High School.
