Allow Cooper City High School to hold their graduation at NSU

Allow Cooper City High School to hold their graduation at NSU
The Issue
The community of Cooper City has long been a strong supporter of educational excellence, and Cooper City High School (CCHS) reflects this commitment with a history of academic achievement, community service, and school spirit. Hosting the graduation ceremony at Nova Southeastern University (NSU), which is just a short distance from Cooper City, would provide an exemplary venue that matches the significance of this major milestone in our students' lives.
The current venue, Dillard Center for Arts, is very minimal in size and will cut short the amount of tickets per student. This proves to be an issue as the Class of 2026 is abundant in the amount of students graduating, with 99% graduating, with 530 students currently enrolled. Classes in the past, such as Class of 2025, were able to graduate at NSU with a lower number of students.
Graduation is not just a ceremony; it is a once-in-a-lifetime event that embodies the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. Families, friends, and faculty come together to celebrate the achievements of graduates who have dedicated countless hours to their studies and extracurricular activities. Therefore, it is essential that the venue reflect the importance of the occasion. NSU offers modern facilities, ample seating, parking convenience, and a prestigious atmosphere that can accommodate the needs of our students and their families.
Moreover, NSU has a longstanding reputation for excellence in higher education and would inspire graduating students as they take the next steps in their academic or professional journeys. Utilizing NSU's facilities for commencement would not only elevate the graduation experience but also strengthen ties between CCHS and one of the region's leading educational institutions.
We recognize the effort and coordination involved in organizing such an event, but with the support of the Cooper City High School administration, NSU, and our local government, we can come together to make this possible. We ask that the Broward County School Board approve the use of NSU for CCHS's graduation ceremony.
Please sign this petition to allow Cooper City High School students to celebrate their graduation in a venue befitting their accomplishments. Together, we can give our students the memorable experience they deserve.
