Many contractors have been forced due to changes to ir35 to use Umbrella company to manage their pay and tax. However, many recruitment agencies have a preferred supplier list or PSL.

This limits the selection and free choice of many contractors.

It would also imply that some agencies maybe in breach of The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003' as they refuse someone from choosing their own Umbrella company.

The law needs to change around this to allow contractors the choose over which Umbrella company they choose.

Recruitment agency's and consultancy's should also be telling us if they are getting paid from a particular Umbrella company. (Similar to influences on Instagram or YouTube, where if they advertise a product and are paid for it should also let the audience know).
