Allow Continuation of Safe, In-Home Dog Boarding and Daycare Service

Allow Continuation of Safe, In-Home Dog Boarding and Daycare Service
The Issue
I provide a service that offers in-home dog boarding and daycare. My motivation is grounded in an understanding of community needs, personal testimony, and a strong belief in the impact pets can have on our lives. I discovered a need in my community for such a service and decided to step in to fill that gap. However, regulatory challenges threaten this operation and the benefits it brings to our community.
Every year, millions of Americans acquire pets, increasing the need for pet-friendly services such as ours. The American Pet Products Association's survey (2019-2020) reveals that 67% of U.S. households have pets, which has created a surge in the need for dog daycare and boarding services. This same report estimates that out of the over $95 billion spent on pets in the U.S. in 2019, approximately $6.11 billion went towards services such as grooming, boarding, training, and pet-sitting. These facts illustrate the enormous scale of this industry and the incredible need for a variety of service offerings, including in-home boarding and daycare.
Our service enables dogs to stay in a safe and familiar environment, reducing their potential for stress and anxiety. It also ensures individualized care and attention that a commercial establishment might not provide. I believe this service is vital, not only for the pets but also for their owners who trust us to care for their furry loved ones while they are away.
The closure of my operation would create a void in our community’s pet care options. We ask the authorities to reconsider their stance and grant us the allowance to continue providing this essential service. Please sign this petition to support our cause.
