I am a resident of the Fountain Breeze Condominium in Parañaque, Metro Manila, Philippines. Our community is home to several cats who have been living here peacefully for years. Recently, these cats were captured and relocated elsewhere despite some of them already being spayed and neutered.

These cats are part of our community's identity and their sudden removal has caused distress among residents who cared for them. Spaying and neutering is a humane way to control the cat population without causing harm or displacement. According to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), spaying/neutering not only helps control overpopulation but also prevents diseases common among stray animals.

We propose that instead of removing these cats from our community, we should implement a widespread spay/neuter program. This approach has been proven effective in many communities around the world as per Humane Society International.
