Allow chickens at 2290 S. Sunrise Circle, Warsaw

Allow chickens at 2290 S. Sunrise Circle, Warsaw
The Issue
Nestled within the charming community of Southbrook Park, Warsaw, my property at 2290 S. Sunrise Circle is a sanctuary and with natural beauty thanks to two rows of pine trees planted 20 years ago and rejuvenated with fresh plantings we completed five years. On our spacious 0.6+ acre lot, my young daughter dreams of nurturing approximately five to six chickens.
This modest flock would bring lessons of responsibility, sustainability, and joy. We aim to house them in a moveable, modest-sized chicken coop with a generously-sized run, ensuring they're free to roam safely. We've made it a point to garner the goodwill of our community by discussing this plan with all our surrounding neighbors, all of whom have expressed their approval.
Given that our property is well-suited for this endeavor, with no overpowering structure (the coop also features a solar-powered door with backup battery) and no roosters to disrupt our neighbors' tranquility, we request an exception to existing codes and regulations that currently bar us from keeping chickens.
In many communities, keeping chickens is a honored tradition, offering eggs and natural pest control, not to mention their role as delightful pets. With meticulous care and neighborly support, our chickens will be an asset, rather than a disturbance, to the Southbrook Park community.
Please join us in this initiative, advocating not only for our household dream but also for fostering a community that values self-reliance and environmental awareness. Sign this petition to help us gain the necessary exception to allow chickens at our home and nurture this enriching family experience.
Many thanks, The Wilson Family
