Brittany Martin is a remarkable person who has fostered over 200 animals in her 20+ years of fostering with organizations like Proud Pups Rescue and Louisville Metro Animal Shelter.

Brittany has currently been fostering a 5-week old puppy named Spirit. She has been caring for him since he was born. He and his sister were going to be euthanized because they had special needs, a cleft palette, and the breeder did not want to "deal with them". This is when Brittany stepped in to foster. And while Spirit's sister passed within a few days, Spirit's fight continues!  The little guy fits in the palm of your hand. Cases such as this are extremely fragile so she has monitored and cared for him around the clock. What would we do without people like Brittany?!?

Today, the HR department at Brittany's workplace prohibited her from bringing Spirit into work, jeopardizing both his well-being and his development. This petition is an urgent plea to support Brittany and allow her to care for Spirit at her workplace. 

It's vital not to overlook the contribution animals can make in a working environment. According to Mental Health America, animals in the workplace can contribute significantly to mental health, reducing stress, increasing productivity and improving employee satisfaction. Not only is this about Spirit, but it's about fostering a compassionate and nurturing working culture. We need people like Brittany in every workplace!

When it comes to rescue animals like Spirit, the situation is grim. The ASPCA states that around 6.5 million animals enter U.S. shelters every year. Rescue animals constantly battle neglect, abuse, and health problems, with a majority of them needing enhanced care, as Spirit does.
