Deer season is just about a month away and we are still working to make bottle neck cartridges a reality in Ohio.

Here are two things to help us in making this a reality

• Spread the word to other hunters so they understand it's not compromising safety but instead helping to keep hunting alive by retaining hunters as they age and also encouraging new hunters to join by lowering the barrier for them.  Remember new hunters normally don't have a lot of equipment and using grandpa's old rifle instead of buying a new 'legal' firearm would be helpful in lowering the barrier.
• Second talk to farmers and ask other hunters to talk to farmers requesting they contact their country farm bureau in favor of allowing bottleneck cartridges.  The ODNR listens to hunters and farmers when it comes to wildlife management and also the farm bureau is not against what we are asking for it would be very beneficial if they came out in favor.

We understood this was going to be a marathon to have change this rule and appreciate everyone's help in making this happen.
