Allow Anime and Other TV Shows During School Recess

The Issue

I am an ardent fan and believer in the cultural significance of Anime. I think students should have the opportunity to indulge in their favorite TV shows, including Anime, during recess. Why should music or traditional sports be the only options available? It's time we broaden the range of acceptable recreational activities.

Anime is not just a form of entertainment - it is a profound cultural expression with educational value. Many Anime series explore themes of perseverance, great fight scenes, heart breaking moments, and moral dilemmas. They pull us into a different world but also make us question our values and broaden our perspective about our own world.

It is also a popular choice among students. According to Statista, more than 60% of children in the United States regularly consume Anime. It's about giving students a choice and celebrating their interests.

The benefits don't stop at cultural and educational enrichment. Research suggests that short, regular breaks involving favored activities stimulate brain function and can help students focus better in class (Souza-Talarico, J. N., et al., 2017).

By allowing Anime and other TV shows during recess, we're not just providing an alternative form of entertainment. We're fostering a more inclusive, engaging, and stimulating environment that respects and caters for diverse interests. Sign this petition to give students the freedom to watch their favorite Anime or other TV shows during recess.
