I have personally witnessed the trauma and distress caused when animals are locked away in the luggage hold of an airplane. It's a sight that haunts me, especially as a pet owner of a young puppy who I would never want to subject to such an ordeal.

Animals are not luggage; they are sentient beings with feelings and emotions. Yet, current airline policies often treat them as mere cargo, resulting in fear, anxiety and sometimes even loss or death of pets. According to data from the U.S Department of Transportation (DOT), 26 animals died while being transported on planes in 2016 alone.

We believe it is time for change - for airlines to recognize that pets are part of our families and deserve better treatment during flights. We call upon airlines worldwide to allow animals into airplane cabins where they can be monitored by their owners and flight staff.
