Today, I had my dog go outside to use the bathroom this morning and I went to go bring her in with her bleeding from her chin confused on what was happening and how it happen. She had used her last strength to walk into a room in my house and could not get back up after that. She started to breathe really heavy, she looked confused and didn’t seem to hear me. I went to go grab a wag from the bathroom to put warm water on it to clean her bloody chin and then finding out a poisonous snake bit her. I immediately called 5 vets just for them to say, “I’m sorry it’s $160-$200 to be seen by doctor”. Keep in mind I called clinics and the emergency room. I lost my dog, my friend, my heart.. right in front of me because I could not afford the upfront payment. Us humans have the right to go to the emergency room and be seen right away without paying upfront with insurance or no insurance and have the bill mailed to us when we can pay it but when it comes to animals we have to pay crazy amounts to save our animals. What if someone can’t have kids and they choose to be a fur parent but can’t afford to save their dog or cat at that moment, what if a service dog is sick really bad and need medical attention ASAP but can’t afford at the moment to save their dog, someone with depression or anxiety with their support animal needs medical attention but can’t afford to help their pet right away.. I want to change the LAW when it comes to emergency pet hospitals. Our animals have feelings and a heart. It’s not fair to watch our animals suffer in pain or even dying because the vets make you pay crazy amounts to save them! It should change globally. Let’s help our animals and give them justice!
