The Issue

In a footballing nation we have the best league whose teams are made up of brilliant players from around the world. Unfortunately, their talents  are showcased mainly to everyone else in the world. The UK does not benefit from this blocked broadcasting.

Only a select few games are televised in a country where the games are being played, due to viewership being monetised by Television Networks.

Approximately 4 games a week are broadcast on multiple channels. Meaning multiple subscription to different TV networks. The cost to the viewer is not fair.

The current argument is that stadium attendance will decrease if matches are broadcast live, therefore Article 48 was created.

I disagree, football is a much loved sport, attendance to stadiums will not decrease, it will allow more fans the opportunity to attend matches, as currently tickets are hard to come by unless you are a season ticket holder and it will also increase legal viewing. Current research estimates 8 million people stream Premier League matches illegally.

Broadcast every Premier league game live at an affordable rate for the viewer. Allow all football fans to enjoy the game whether watching in person or a live broadcast.
