Sepultura has been one of my favourite bands for as long as I can remember. When I learned they were retiring, it was a devastating blow. Discovering that their only shows in Australia are 18+ felt like a dream slipping away—I may never get the chance to experience one of my all-time favourite bands live. And I know I’m not alone.

Many young fans across Australia share this sentiment. Sepultura's music has not only impacted older generations but has also inspired a younger audience, many of whom have grown up listening to their iconic tracks. These concerts present a rare, perhaps final opportunity for fans of all ages to see them play live. Allowing younger fans under 18 to attend these shows would celebrate the band's legacy and ensure that their music continues to inspire future generations.

Currently, these age restrictions are preventing passionate fans from celebrating the end of an era with Sepultura. While safety and regulations are crucial, many venues offer ways to accommodate younger audiences, such as having designated areas or earlier show times. These practical solutions would permit under-18s to engage in a deeply memorable experience without compromising on the safety concerns of hosting a mixed-age audience.

Sepultura deserves a send-off tour that honors the diverse demographic of their fans. By opening these shows to all age groups, we acknowledge the band’s widespread impact and celebrate their musical journey in all its inclusivity.
