REPRESENTATION TO CENTRAL GOVERNMENT AND STATE GOVERNMENT BY THE DEVOTEES OF GURUDWARA SIS GANJ SAHIB, CHANDNI CHOWK

The devotees of Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib Ji would like to put forward their anguish, pain and concern towards they being restricted from approaching to Gurudwara Sahib Ji due to the notification dated 14.07.2021 issued by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi which has prohibited vehicles from entering to the parking of Gurudwara Sahib Ji due to which Delhi Traffic Police is issuing hefty and unreasonable challans to all motor vehicles for a sum of Rs. 20,000/-. The said notification dated 14.07.2021 and challans in consequence thereof restricts the rights of the devotees of all sect and religion to have free access to Gurudwara Sahib Ji which is against the fundamental rights of the devotees enshrined in Article 25 of the Constitution of India, 1950. 

Because of the hefty and unreasonable amount of challans being issued by the concerned authorities the old and disabled devotees are facing huge problem to approach the Gurudwara Sahib Ji. Further, because of the said notification dated 14.07.2021, the devotees are also finding it difficult to provide wheat, pulses and other any important materials for langar-seva (community kitchen) which serves free meals to large section of the community regardless of caste, creed and religion. 

We urge and request to Govt. of NCT of Delhi to make necessary amendments to the notification dated 14.07.2021 whereby declaring that the restrictions shall not apply to the passage/road from ‘Jubli Cinema Cut’ to the parking of Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib Ji. Further, it is urged to Central Government to issue instruction to the Delhi Traffic police, not to issue challans to the vehicles entering parking of Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib Ji from ‘Jubli Cinema Cut’ and to quash/cancel the pending challans of the vehicles of the devotees entering and exiting the parking of the Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib Ji to and from ‘Jubli Cinema Cut’.
