The Issue

Growing up in Fort Walton Beach, the Hollywood Boulevard water access has always been my sanctuary, a place where I could find peace amidst the chaos of life. It's my quiet refuge, a port in the storm, where the pressures and burdens I place upon myself melt away. I care deeply about our community and believe that we all deserve this beautiful space available to us whenever we need it—not just from dawn to dusk. I've worked in the service industry the majority of my life and after weathering a choppy sea i don't have assess to this port to calm my nerves. I wish not to be burden on anyone, but I've found my self lashing out at others, due to my own personal frustrations and thats the last person I want to be. But, the bitter irony is, the harder I try not to be that person being that guy, and it truly saddens me. 😓

Many residents, like myself, have called this place home their entire lives. While Fort Walton Beach is known for its stunning shores, the summer months can be particularly overwhelming. Having uninterrupted access to this serene location can offer many a much-needed escape—a place to gather thoughts and enjoy solitude in a safe and comforting environment.

Currently, the access is restricted, which limits when we can benefit from its tranquility. By extending the open hours to 24 hours, 7 days a week, we enable everyone who calls this charming town home to enjoy a quiet moment at any time of day or night.

Opening Hollywood Boulevard water access around the clock is a simple yet impactful action we can take to enhance the well-being of our community members. It ensures that our beautiful space by the water can be enjoyed at all times, making it more accessible to people who find inspiration and comfort there.

Join me in urging those in charge to recognize the importance of this matter. By signing this petition, you're not just supporting extended access to the water; you're standing for the chance to find peace, clear your mind, and rejuvenate whenever you need it. Let's come together to make this vital change a reality for Fort Walton Beach.
